Presented in cooperation with the Ridgewood Arts Foundation and the Conservancy for Ridgewood Public Lands, two works from Lisa Kachajian's UpCountry, a lens-based project (ongoing since 2019), will be included in the PhotograpHer Exhibition.

Kachajian's UpCountry invites viewers to reflect on the pastoral character, agricultural history, and farming traditions of northern New Jersey, elements made vulnerable by the region’s accelerating pace of development.

Raising questions about what we lose in the name of progress, UpCountry seeks to inspire the conservation and protection of Bergen County's remaining rural properties. It stands as both a tribute to our shared heritage and a call to the memory of place, and the silent voices of the land.
